TotalAV Setup

How to Download and Install TotalAV

Need help downloading and installing TotalAV? Just follow the steps below for your selected device.

Before proceeding with the installation of TotalAV, we recommend checking out our System Requirements article, for help on which version you can install.

Note: This TotalAV version can only be installed on Windows 10 (21H2+) & Windows 11 (23H2+).

Download TotalAV

To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

If you cannot access your TotalAV Online Portal, find our direct download button for TotalAV below:

Downloads Folder

Open the Downloaded File within your browser downloads area or by going to your downloads folder in File Explorer.

Allow TotalAV To Make Changes To Your Device

Next, click Yes to allow TotalAV to begin the installation process. Without approval, TotalAV will not be allowed to install on your device.

When the TotalAV setup window opens, click Install.

Setup File Installation

Please wait for the setup files to be downloaded and be installed.

Ready to Scan

TotalAV is now fully installed. Click on Start Scan to begin your scanning your system. Once the scan is finished, go through and resolve all issues that TotalAV has detected.


If you wish to login before proceeding with the scan, click on Log In to activate the TotalAV app.

Login

Enter your TotalAV log in details, and click on Log In.

Enable Real-Time Protection

Real-Time Protection will activate after a few seconds of TotalAV being fully installed, or will require you to click Enable Real-Time Protection.

However should this function not activate by itself, and does not enable after clicking the Enable Real-Time Protection button, please click on Manually Enable Real-Time Protection below.

  • TotalAV Settings

    • Click on the cog icon, to go to Settings.

  • Advanced Tab

    • Go to the Advanced tab.

  • Toggle on Real-Time Protection

    • Under Security, find Enable Real-Time Protection, and click on the Toggle(s) to enable protection.

  • Real-Time Protection Successfully Enabled

    • The toggle(s) for the Security section, should all stay on for Real-Time Protection to be active.

    You Are Now Protected!

    Note: This TotalAV version can only be installed on Windows 7 (Service Pack 1), Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (21H2) and below.

    Download TotalAV

    To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

    If you cannot access your Online Portal, find our direct download button for TotalAV below:

    Open the Downloaded File within your browser downloads area or by going to your downloads folder in File Explorer.

    Allow TotalAV To Make Changes To Your Device

    Next, click Yes to allow TotalAV to begin the installation process. Without approval, TotalAV will not be allowed to install on your device.

    Restart

    Click on OK to restart your computer.

    Login

    Enter your TotalAV log in details, and click on Login.

    Enable Real-Time Protection

    Once you have logged into TotalAV, it will automatically try and enable Real-Time Protection. Should it not, you will need to click on Enable Real-Time Protection.

    You Are Now Protected!

    Download TotalAV

    To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

    If you cannot access your Online Portal, find our direct download button for TotalAV below:

    Download for macOS

    Downloads

    Open the Downloaded File within your browser downloads area or by going to your downloads folder in Finder, and double click the TotalAV.dmg file.

    Begin Installation

    Double click the Package Icon to begin the Installation.

    TotalAV Installer

    The Installation Window will pop up, please click Continue.

    Install

    Click on Install to begin installing TotalAV. If you are using more than one storage drive, select the Destination you would like to install TotalAV, and then click Install.

    Authorization

    Input your Apple Mac Password, and click on Install Software.

    TotalAV Installation Successful

    Click on Close to proceed to the TotalAV application.

    Get Started

    Click on Get Started Now to log into TotalAV.

    Automatic Login

    TotalAV will attempt to login using your current browser session, should it be unsuccessful, please follow the next step.

    Login

    Enter your TotalAV log in details, and click on Log in.

    Login Successful

    Setup Real-Time Protection

    Once you have installed TotalAV you will need to enable Real-Time Protection to safeguard you from real time threats.

  • Install TotalAV System Extension

    • Click Install to begin the installation of the TotalAV System Extension.

  • System Preferences

    • Click on Open System Preferences.

  • Authorization

    • Click the Lock Icon to authorize the changes you are about to make, and enter your Apple Mac Account Credentials.

    Click Unlock when the credentials have been inputted.

  • Allow Changes

    • Click Allow.

  • Complete TotalAV Setup

    • Go to the TotalAV Application, and click Complete Setup.

    You Are Now Protected!

    If you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, you may need to install a tool called Rosetta 2. This is provided by Apple and helps your Mac run apps that were originally designed for Intel-based Macs.

    Download TotalAV

    To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

    Open the Downloaded File within your browser downloads area or by going to your downloads folder in Finder, and double click the totalav.dmg file.

    Begin Installation

    Double click the Package Icon to begin the Installation.

    Setup Real-Time Protection

    Once you have installed TotalAV you will need to enable Real-Time Protection to safeguard you from real time threats.

  • Get Started

    • Click on Enable to get started.

  • Real-Time Protection Setup Window

    • Click on the green button labeled Open System Preferences. If required, click on the lock icon to make changes.

  • Full Disk Access

    • Enabled TotalAV to have Full Disk Access by clicking on the toggle button.

  • Allow Privacy & Security To Make The Changes

    • Enter your Apple Mac Login Credentials, and click Modify Settings.

  • TotalAV to Quit Later

    • Click on Later.

  • Full Disk Access Granted

    • Once Full Disk Access has been granted, click on Next to proceed with the Real-Time Protection setup.

  • Real-Time System Extension Install

    • Click on Install, in the newly opened TotalAV setup window.

  • Go To System Settings

    • Click on Open System Settings.

  • Enable the TotalAV Endpoint Security Extension

    • Click on the toggle button to enabled TotalAV Real Time Extension.

  • Authorize Modification to a System Extension

    • Enter your Apple Mac Login Credentials and click Ok.

  • Done

    • Click on Done, to proceed to the next step.

  • TotalAV System Extension Successfully Installed

    • Click on Next, to proceed to the next step.

  • Open System Preferences

    • Click on Open System Preferences.

  • Allow Full Disk Access For The System Extension

    • Enable the TotalAV 5 Real-Time Extension by clicking the toggle button.

  • Authorize Privacy & Security Changes

    • Enter your Apple Mac Login Credentials details, and click Unlock.

  • System Extension Full Disk Access Granted

    • Click on Re-Launch to restart TotalAV.

    You Are Now Protected!

    Note: TotalAV requires permissions on your iPhone or iPad to allow features such as Clean-Up Tools and Notifications to work properly.

    Download TotalAV

    To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

    If you cannot access your Online Portal, find our direct download button for TotalAV. This will take you directly to the Apple App Store:

    TotalAV App Store Page

    Tap Get on the TotalAV App Store Page. You may need to enter your Apple Login Credentials, to authorize the free purchase of the application.

    Open TotalAV

    Tap Open to open TotalAV.

    Get Started

    If you already have an account with us, simply tap on Log In. If you're a new customer, please tap on Get Started.

    Log In

    Enter your TotalAV log in details, and tap on Log In.

    Allow TotalAV Access

  • Begin to Allow Access

    • To get started on allowing TotalAV access to your device, tap on Photos to begin.

  • TotalAV Would Like Access To Your Photo Library

    • Tap on Allow Full Access. However, if you only wish to allow TotalAV limited access to certain photos/albums, tap on Limit Access...

  • TotalAV Would Like Access To Your Contacts

    • Tap on Continue, to proceed to the next step.

  • How Do You Want To Share Your Contacts?

    • In the new sharing contacts menu, tap on whether you want to share your full contacts list, or selecting certain contacts.

  • TotalAV Would Like To Send You Notifications

    • Tap on Allow, if you wish to receive TotalAV notifications. If you do not, simply tap on Don't Allow.

  • Finished Allowing TotalAV Access

    • Tap on Done to proceed to the next step.

    Activating Protection

  • Begin Activating

    • Tap on the Power icon, to begin the activation of TotalAV Webshield.

  • WebShield is Disabled

    • Tap on the Toggle, and proceed to the next step.

  • Activate TotalAV Webshield in Safari

    • A new window will open with steps on how to activate TotalAV Webshield, tap on Open Safari to start.

  • Safari Preferences

    • Tap on the Safari Preferences icon, and proceed to the next step.

  • Manage Extensions

    • Tap on Manage Extensions, and proceed to the next step.

  • Enabling TotalAV Webshield

    • Tap on the toggle to enable TotalAV Webshield.

  • Done

    • Tap on Done, and proceed to the next step.

    Setup Complete

    Tap on Finish Setup.

    Open TotalAV

    Tap on Open, to open the TotalAV application.

    You Are Now Protected!

    Note: TotalAV requires certain permissions on your Android device to enable features like Clean-Up Tools and Notifications to work properly.

    Download TotalAV

    To download TotalAV, you will need to head over to your Online Portal, and install it by clicking on the Install TotalAV button.

    If you cannot access your Online Portal, find our direct download button for TotalAV. This will take you directly to the Google Play Store:

    Tap Install on the TotalAV Google Play Store Page.

    You may need to enter your Google Account Login Credentials, to authorize the free purchase of the application.

    Open TotalAV

    Tap Open, and proceed to the next step.

    Get Started

    If you already have an account with us, simply tap on Log In. If you're a new customer, please tap on Get Started.

    Log In

    Enter your TotalAV log in details, and tap on Log In.

    Allow TotalAV Access

  • Allow TotalAV Access - Notifications

    • To get started on allowing TotalAV access to your device, tap Allow to allow TotalAV to send you notifications.

  • Allow TotalAV Access - Photos & Videos

    • Tap Allow All to allow TotalAV to have access to your photos and videos. If you do not wish to give TotalAV all access, tap on Allow Limited Access.

  • Allow TotalAV Access - Contacts

    • Tap Allow, so TotalAV can be given access to your contacts.

  • Allow TotalAV Access - Completed

    • Tap on Done, to confirm access has been authorized for your device.

    Activate TotalAV Real-Time Protection

    Tap on the Power icon, and proceed to the next step.

    Enable Real-Time Protection

    To activate TotalAV Real-Time Protection, tap the toggle on.
